When Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their decision to "conscious detachment" earlier this year and we're all a little bit in shock.

Now it seems like he was still Gywnnie kind of surprised her marriage fell apart, too.

I spoke with Harper's Bazaar UK on a separate survey, especially those moments where she thought they might be better off just staying married to Martin.

It's painful, it's difficult, it may be easy to say. "I do not want to see you again," but what good is not do anyone? We've made a lot of mistakes and we've had good days and bad days. But I must say that I am proud to have worked through many things together - not punishment and shaming. Sure, there are times when I think it would have been better if we were married, which is often what your baby needs. But we were able to strengthen our friendship, so it really close.

How close? Well, lived across the street from each other in LA and take a vacation with their children, Apple and Moses.

In addition, you have Gwyneth was not anything bad to say about her past, and that helped her get through her father's death in 2002.

I feel like I have died if I had not met (Martin) at the time I felt like I was dying of grief. I remember waking up in the night, I felt like I was having a heart attack, and I could not breathe. I was lying on the floor of my apartment in London, I think. "I'm not going to stay on this alive." And picked me up and he was loved, and so the patient through my mind. He was really good in a crisis. He said he does not believe compassion when it comes to people's pain ...
